Vila studied Japanese woodblock as a hobby, and became obsessed with the complexities of the process, so she started collecting them. At first, mostly of Geishas, tea houses, and Fujiyama, then she expanded her collection into other genre. She had a Japanese colleague, Takashi Kono, who lived with her for 18 months, translating these collections for her. Each piece is of historical significant, and are priceless.
