Searching for My Religion
to all those who seeks truth
By Vila
I am searching for my religion
I have lost my faith in god, buddha, and the supreme being
If there is a supreme being
The world would not be where we are today
The churches and temples that I’ve attended are full
of bigotry
People are cruel and have little empathy or sympathy for that
matter
Don’t get me wrong, they mean well
In their own ignorance and that’s okay I suppose
Because ignorance is bliss
I am searching for my religion
A religion that does not judge
A religion that has a heart
A religion that does not discriminate
A religion that gives me faith in the greater good
A religion that has no envy
A religion that has no borders or greed
Does such religion exist?
I have to find it in my heart to see that it does
I am searching for my religion
When I find it I will tell you
And if you’ve found it, let me know
Because the way of the world is today
It saddens my heart
Too much poverty and despair
Wars of no reasons
Glutony and greeds galore
When I saw people trampled in a department store for an ex-box
or a laptop
My heart sank to the floor
They have not seen hungry children in Africa
Child trafficking in Asia
Or the War in Iraq
My head is spinning and my heart is broken
What have we become?
I am searching for my religion
