Marianna Veress - Marketing Director
I'm born and raiser Hungarian (hometown: www.gyula.hu),
last and only child of an old noble family. Most of
my education (med school, business IT school) been done
in Europe, although I have attended North Seattle CC
where I studied Mechanical Engineering.
I grew up with arts, music, theater were part of one's
every day life in Europe, my family and I were frequent
visitors of museums, concerts and performing arts.
Although my actual talent to most art was limited,
my enthusiasm of participating and supporting the outstanding
few is ongoing.
The only field I have had some personal success was
dancing, in 1989 was fortunate enough to win the European
Ballroom Dance Championship in semi-pro category' s
contest of Latin dances with my partner of the time.
Upon my relocation to the USA in 1995 I have immediately
began my search of local art organizations, as art is
universal, it has eased the transition of such different
cultures for me.
I have belonged to many local organizations, some of
them are on the Board for, but my main work lays with
the Seattle Opera. I am on the board of directors for
Bravo Club for 7 years now, during which period we have
managed to grow the club to be the country s largest
young art organization (with over 550 subscribing members).
Professionally I'm in business and operations management,
a job which is all by itself challenging and allows
me to grow constantly.
I feel most fortunate to know Vila and have the honor
of her calling me a friend. Her request of me joining
her group of wonderful people was most appreciated,
and I only hope I can measure up to my follow board
members. Thank you for the opportunity, I will serve
the cause with the best of my ability.
